Acorn & Nut Roller Picker with Adjustable Aluminum Handle
Product description
Stand-and-roll nut collecting: The roller is built to let you pick up fallen nuts and small spherical debris while remaining upright, eliminating repetitive bending and manual scooping across lawns, patios and garden areas.
Foot-release side dump: The pickup drum opens from the side with a foot-activated release so gathered items pour out easily into the supplied drawstring bag. That keeps your hands away from the basket when dumping and speeds the transfer process.
Adjustable handle and grip: The pole telescopes to accommodate different user heights and working positions, and a textured grip helps you guide the roller and control emptying with greater comfort and precision.
Compatible sizes and items: The drum is sized for objects roughly 3/4" to 1.5" in diameter. Typical uses include collecting walnuts, acorns, pecans, hickory nuts, sweet gum balls, magnolia seeds and even golf balls.
Durable, lightweight construction: The unit features a reinforced aluminum handle paired with an elastic steel-wire basket for dependable pickup without excessive weight. It ships with a 1-gallon drawstring collection bag and is intended for repeated seasonal yard cleanup and easy storage.
Pros
- Collects items 3/4"–1.5" without bending
- Foot-activated side dump into included drawstring bag
- Reinforced aluminum pole with elastic steel-wire basket
Cons
- May miss objects in tall or dense grass
- Some spokes can feel flimsy on certain units
- Single-side hopper opening can slow emptying
VerdictA practical yard tool for reducing back strain during seasonal cleanup. The lightweight aluminum pole and elastic steel-wire basket make rolling over lawns and patios easy, and the foot-activated side dump lets you empty the hopper without touching the collected material. It handles 0.75–1.5" objects well, though it can miss items in taller grass and some units may have less-sturdy spokes. Overall

Keeps acorns away from dogs and helps wildlife
Simple but clever — the basket makes it easy to collect and save nuts for wildlife. My goal was to stop my dogs from eating acorns and this is lightweight, handy and time-efficient for that purpose.

Best purchase in a long while
I bought a second version after my plastic-spoked model failed. The metal rods are stiffer and spring back quickly, and the narrow spacing keeps nuts from escaping. The drum release works great. Even on uneven turf this one performs well, though it prefers short grass. Worth a bit extra for the build quality.

Does the job, with repeat passes
It misses some nuts, so you may need to roll an area more than once. When it does pick them up, the basket holds them cleanly without bringing up much grass or sticks. Satisfied overall — I’ll save a few for the deer this winter.

Not effective for my yard
I’m returning mine. It will pick up acorns but then toss many right back out. The spokes sometimes stay open, especially with two-lobed acorns, letting them fall back through. Feels well made, but the wire spokes were too flexible for my heavy crop of acorns.

Handy for crab apples too
Great for picking up crab apples on the lawn. The telescoping handle is convenient. When the basket is full the handle can feel a touch weak, so I lift the basket lower on the shaft to reduce strain.

Really speeds up acorn cleanup
Used it for the first time and it did grab acorns. Tweaked the handle a bit to fit my height, then rolled the lawn and filled the drum several times. Emptying is quick with the foot release. Left some empty shells behind, but the mower took care of those. Easier on the hands than a rake.

Assembly problems and missing inserts
After assembling I was picking up walnuts well, but one of the locking rods worked loose and the lock piece popped up. Two small plastic inserts slipped out during handling and I wasn’t sure where they fit. I managed to reseat the rod, but would appreciate the manufacturer sending a properly assembled replacement handle if possible since I can’t return it through the original box.

Clever idea; gets the job done
Works well for walnuts of various sizes. If you have lots of nuts, the larger hopper model is worth considering. It handled taller grass fine. Emptying about 20 nuts can be a bit fiddly through the single end door — twisting the roller helps. A two-end door or a mower-mounted attachment would speed things up.
