Marine
Handheld Floating IP68 Marine VHF Radio — Portable Two‑Way
Product description
Lightweight and portable: This handheld marine VHF radio has a slim ergonomic profile that’s easy to hold and carry. The package includes a rechargeable battery pack, a Type‑C charging cable and a compatible USB adapter. Its compact size makes it convenient for anglers, kayakers, small motorboats, sailing clubs, beach patrols, offshore crews on smaller vessels, cruise support teams and port coordinators.
IP68 waterproof and floating: Engineered for marine use, the housing meets IP68 standards and can tolerate immersion to about 1 meter for 30 minutes. If dropped overboard it will float to the surface for quick retrieval. The design incorporates vibration drainage and materials resistant to salt corrosion; users should always ensure the rear cover is screwed down tightly and wipe away moisture after exposure to prolong service life.
Fast charging and battery life: The radio ships with a high‑capacity rechargeable battery and supports Type‑C fast charging for quicker top‑ups. Use the supplied adapter and cable to charge the unit; avoid using that same adapter to power other devices with the same connector if instructed otherwise. When charged, the battery provides extended operating time between charges.
Channel coverage and programming: The unit includes 16 preset channels and is able to receive standard marine VHF coverage across the 136–174 MHz band, including U.S., Canadian and many international marine channels. For frequency edits or custom channel maps you can reprogram the device using a K‑head programming cable (not included). Contact the seller or support email for access to programming software if required.
Large LED display: A clear LED screen shows the active channel, battery level and relative signal strength for straightforward operation, even in bright daylight. Controls are designed for simple channel selection and status monitoring while underway.
Support and warranty: This is a new handheld VHF radio intended for maritime use. If you need assistance with setup, firmware or programming, reach out to the seller’s customer support email or follow the support steps provided with your purchase documentation to request software or troubleshooting help.

Misrepresented listing
This is not a true dedicated marine radio as advertised; the listing should be corrected or removed.

Sturdy and easy to read
Build seems tough. I haven't submerged it, but the waterproof rating gives confidence. Screen is bright and visible in sun. Size is convenient and controls are simple.

Solid, waterproof and dependable
Feels well built and comfortable to hold. Reception is clear and reaches far. I dropped it in a lake and it floated back up with no leaks. Battery lasts for many hours and the display is readable in sunlight.

Programmable transceiver, not plug‑and‑play marine
This is a programmable walkie/transceiver, not a turnkey marine radio. It needs programming to be fully usable for marine channels out of the box.

Programmable — required tweaks for true marine use
Not a dedicated marine set; it’s a UHF/VHF programmable radio preloaded with some marine channels. No dedicated squelch knob, antenna isn’t great, and the instructions are sparse. I had to contact the seller to get the programming software, used my USB cable to reprogram channels and added weather channels. After upgrading the antenna and adjusting settings it should work fine, though it required extra work.

Needs better documentation
Setup directions are very basic; a more detailed manual would be helpful.
