Comgrow Large-Capacity Filament Dryer Box for 1.75 / 2.85 mm Spools
Product description
Large interior space: The dryer provides an internal chamber of 9.29 x 6.49 x 9.13 inches, large enough for two 1 kg spools side-by-side. The case is meant to store and dry standard 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm filament on spools up to roughly 2 kg combined capacity.
Supported materials and use: It is suitable for PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS and silk-like filaments, helping remove absorbed moisture before or during printing. Spools sit inside the chamber and filament feeds out through small ports in the front or top so you can print while keeping material dry.
Controls and display: The unit has selectable temperatures from 40°C to 50°C and a timer you can set from 6 to 12 hours. A simple power button and a function (M) button are used to navigate settings; the display reports current temperature and chamber humidity in real time so you can monitor progress.
Operation and safeguards: The dryer only runs when the display indicates it is in active “work” mode, helping avoid accidental shutdowns or unintended cycles. It ships with plug covers to seal the access holes when not feeding filament, minimizing moisture ingress.
Performance benefits and support: Keeping filament dry reduces tangles, clogs, adhesion problems, and layer inconsistencies, improving print reliability. For assistance, contact the seller or manufacturer through the product’s support channels; typical responses arrive within 24 hours.
Pros
- Holds two standard 1 kg spools
- Digital readout for temp and humidity
- Easy controls and feed-through ports
Cons
- Timer starts at six hours only
- Some units report hot power adapter
- Occasional startup temperature overshoot
VerdictA straightforward, high-capacity filament drying box that effectively reduces moisture-related print problems. It accommodates two standard 1 kg spools, offers basic but useful temperature and timer settings (40–50°C, 6–12 hours), and shows temperature and humidity on a front panel. Good value and easy to use for daily printing; some units have reported issues with initial temperature overshoot, h

Simple, effective drying
Plug it in, place up to two 1 kg spools inside, press power and use M until the display shows work. Default 6 hours at 50°C worked well for me. Keep the feed holes sealed except where filament exits. I watched humidity drop from around 50% to the low 30s and prints improved noticeably. It won’t fix every printer issue, but it made a real difference for me.

Temperature quirks and hot power supply
At first startup the displayed temperature overshot the set point and read 50°C+ when set to 40°C, which was worrying. After running for a while it settled to the correct temperature. The external power brick becomes very hot to touch, which seems poorly designed and raises durability concerns. Possible I received a faulty unit.

Great for TPU and PETG
Does exactly what I need for TPU and PETG—dries quickly and improved print results. No more brittle or clogged filament, and tangles are no longer an issue. It feeds filament out to any 3D printer via the small holes and has been very reliable for me.

Pick this one over others
Nice-looking unit that doesn’t take much desk space. I wish there was a 4-hour timer, but the 6-hour minimum has been fine. I usually run it at 50°C; it includes plugs for the ports. The lid feels a bit light but overall it seems durable. While drying TPU I printed directly and saw better extrusion—no problems so far.

Must-have for more consistent prints
This dryer noticeably improved print quality for me. It’s easy to set up, warms up quickly, and keeps filament sufficiently dry while printing. I experienced less stringing and fewer failed prints. Quiet and reliable for day-to-day use—worth adding to a printing setup.

Essential for humid climates and advanced filaments
Not necessary for basic PLA, but crucial for hygroscopic filaments in humid areas. This unit let me print ASA and TPU consistently where I previously had issues. Very simple to operate: plug in, load filament, and it handles the rest. Highly recommended if you need to work with advanced materials.

Functional but basic; watch bottom heat
Good starter dryer and prints fine from spools inside. The bottom can get quite hot due to limited airflow; elevating the unit with feet solved the issue. Mine has four feed holes and newer firmware supports 50°C start temp and longer timers. It’s a bare-bones design and I’m unsure about long-term durability.

Good performance but reliability concerns
I own six of these for two printers and they dry filament well. Used for multi-color feeding and they worked great initially. However, three units became very noisy on startup after about a year, which suggests potential failures. Lack of clear manufacturer support options is frustrating; otherwise these were a solid bargain.
