Bertolli Vineyard Merlot Marinara Sauce — Six 24 oz Jars, Pasta Sauce
Product description
WHAT'S INCLUDED: A pack of six glass jars, each 24 fluid ounces, of Bertolli Vineyard Merlot Marinara Sauce.
INGREDIENTS & CHARACTER: This marinara is built from vine-ripened tomatoes slowly combined with fragrant herbs, garlic and a splash of Merlot wine. The result is a sauce with layered tomato sweetness, measured acidity and a velvety mouthfeel with a subtle wine-kissed depth.
HOW TO USE: Serve tossed with pasta for a classic spaghetti, fold into meat sauces like beef Bolognese for extra complexity, or spread under cheeses for dishes such as Eggplant Parmesan, stuffed peppers or flatbreads. Its balanced profile makes it suitable for everyday meals or slightly more formal dinners.
LEGACY & STORAGE: Bertolli draws on Tuscan-inspired recipes and a long heritage dating back to the 19th century to deliver approachable Italian flavors. Keep refrigerated after opening.
Pros
- Merlot adds subtle, savory depth
- Smooth, well-balanced tomato flavor
- Generous six-pack of 24 oz jars
Cons
- A bit pricier than basic sauces
- Occasional lid fit problems reported
- Wine note may not suit very young palates
VerdictThis Merlot-infused marinara offers a smooth, layered tomato flavor with gentle acidity and a soft wine note. The six 24 oz jars give enough servings for multiple meals or gatherings, and the sauce is versatile enough to dress simple spaghetti or deepen ragùs and baked dishes. Texture and seasoning lean toward rich and balanced, though a few packages may show lid fit issues in transit — otherwise

Thick, well-seasoned and family-sized
Really tasty — thick texture and balanced seasoning, not overly sweet or garlicky. A rich sauce perfect for pasta. I ordered the six-jar pack because each 24 oz jar is enough for a family dinner for four.

My favorite jarred marinara
This is my go-to sauce. It costs a bit more than basic brands, but the tomato sweetness comes through without being too salty. Garlic is present but not overpowering.

Tasty but watch the packaging
Sauce itself is flavorful. Problem: a few lids didn’t stay secure, which made a mess inside the outer box and plastic wrap. I received replacements and didn’t need to return the opened jars.

Very enjoyable, worth the splurge
Tastes great and has a nice depth. It’s slightly more costly than supermarket basics, but I think it’s worth it.
