3 ft One-Man Crosscut Log Saw — Hand Saw with Screw-On Auxiliary Handle
Product description
One-person log saw: Built as a three-foot timber saw so one operator can buck and section trunks by hand. A threaded auxiliary handle screws into the blade for an alternate two-handed or two-person hold; the blade has a modest rocker profile to promote a more fluid sawing motion.
Great American tooth pattern: The blade uses an aggressive crosscut tooth geometry—deep gullets every third tooth plus smaller starter teeth along the first five inches—to bite into wood fibers and expel chips efficiently.
Self-clearing blade: The 1.5 mm-thick steel blade is cut with deep gullets to move waste wood, sawdust, and debris away from the kerf as you work, which helps maintain cutting speed through both green and seasoned wood.
Low-impact alternative: This hand saw offers a quieter, more environmentally friendly way to process fallen logs compared with powered chainsaws. It lets you break large pieces into manageable lengths using manual power alone.
Product details: Materials are steel for the blade and beech wood for the handle. Overall dimensions are approximately 39.75" long by 1" wide and 5.5" high. The grip measures about 6" in length and the blade is roughly 36" long with a 1.5 mm thickness. The package includes a screw-on auxiliary handle. Color scheme: silver blade with natural wood handle.
Pros
- Robust steel blade with traditional beech handle
- Deep gullets help clear chips for faster cutting
- Auxiliary handle allows one- or two-handed use
Cons
- May require filing or setting the teeth on arrival
- Physically demanding on long cuts
- Designed specifically for crosscut tasks
VerdictThis is a rugged, old-school crosscut saw made for tearing through felled timber without a chainsaw. Its Great American tooth layout and pronounced gullets help eject sawdust and sap, while the screw-in auxiliary handle makes it adaptable for either solo work or a two-handed grip. The 1.5 mm steel blade and solid beech handle provide durable construction, but expect to put some elbow grease into l

Saw was fine, seller support lacking
The tool itself performed well, but the seller did not respond when I requested extra screws or answered messages.

Expect a solid workout
Cuts reliably but you’ll need the strength to keep it moving through big rounds.

How to set these teeth?
Looking for advice on the correct method to set and sharpen the saw teeth for best performance.

Heads-up: blade arrives stamped, not sharp
For crosscut buyers: the blade is stamped rather than finished. A 10" triangular file does the job—about 45 minutes to get decent cutting teeth. Photo shows arrival condition.

Traditional, well-made saw
Nice, old-school feel. Family used it to buck cordwood and liked the design. With proper setting and filing it should last many years.
