VZ Grips 320 J-Frame Replacement Grips — Smooth G10 Panels, Black
Product description
What’s included: two grip panels and a stainless steel Torx-15 (T‑15) screw for installation.
Material and finish: These panels are machined from G10 laminate featuring bold, visible layers of color. The CNC process leaves very fine mill marks that are intentionally not polished away, resulting in the smoothest texture in VZ’s 320 family — comfortable to hold yet not completely slick. The laminate is tough and resists wear from daily carry.
Fit and use: Sized for J‑Frame–style small revolvers (round-butt and similar frames), these panels are a popular choice for concealed carry because they won’t readily snag clothing. They are intended to be drop-in on many modern J‑Frame pistols, though some guns—especially older examples with dimensional variances—may require light fitting at the edges or hammer area. Made in the USA on American equipment by American workers.
Pros
- Comfortable, low-profile surface ideal for concealment
- Durable G10 laminate with attractive layered colors
- Comes with stainless T‑15 screw; manufactured in USA
Cons
- Can feel slick initially until broken in or treated
- Some frames may need minor fitting for perfect contact
- Edges might require light sanding to suit personal preference
VerdictThese VZ 320 panels are designed for shooters who want a low-profile, comfortable grip that won’t catch clothing during concealed carry. The G10 laminate provides durability and striking layered color, while the lightly milled surface offers just enough bite without being abrasive. Fit can be excellent on most J‑Frame revolvers, though older or variably manufactured frames might need minor fitting

Top-quality G10 for J-frames
VZ consistently uses excellent materials and engineering. I picked a less-popular color and got a deal, but the fit and finish were first-rate. Looks and quality are outstanding.

Well-shaped, snug-fitting panels
I bought two sets and installed them on a 340PD and a 43C. Fit both pistols exactly; you set the top in first then seat the butt pins. They feel a bit thinner than factory rubber but very snug. Very pleased and I’ll likely add more to my collection.

Rough edges and too slick
These had some rough finishing at the perimeters and felt slick in my hand, which was contrary to what I expected for this style.

Didn’t seat well on my older Model 60
Solidly made, but they didn’t fit my forty-year-old Model 60 round-butt. Gaps at the front where the panels meet and they don’t extend far enough up the backstrap. Could be fine for newer S&W frames. Packaging arrived dented but grips were intact.

Slippery at first, fixed with oil
They seemed dry and slick out of the box and I nearly returned them. After a thin coat of Ballistol the surface gained grip instantly. Now they look great and hold much better.

Worth the one-time investment
Smooth enough to not catch clothing but shaped to lock into the hand under .38 SPL recoil. I put them on a 442 and carry in a pocket holster. I did break a couple of edges with 400 grit to taste, but the precision is superior to competing brands.

My go-to when wood won’t do
I own several firearms with wood and horn, but for carry guns I prefer G10. Most of mine are VZ and need little to no work; when they do, emery cloth and light oil restore the finish. The 320s are smooth enough to avoid wear on clothing yet offer enough texture to retain the gun—no regrets.

Quick swap, near-perfect fit
Swapping out the stock grips took minutes and the fit was nearly perfect. Both sides are slightly shy near the hammer shank, and the panels are a touch slippery, but that helps with CCW since clothes don’t snag.
