Gorilla Grip Chenille Bath Rug — Absorbent Microfiber Bath Mat, 24x17 Gray
Product description
Award recognition: This bath rug earned a 2026 HuffPost Shopping Award for its home category performance and practical problem solving.
Plush construction: The surface is made from dense microfiber chenille with a pile that measures close to an inch, offering a soft, cushioned feel that helps keep feet warm on cold floors. The chenille yarns are designed to trap water quickly and provide a cozy landing spot coming out of the tub or standing at the sink.
Absorbency & drying: The thick microfiber pile soaks up splash and drips to reduce puddles on your bathroom floor, while the fabric is engineered to release moisture and dry faster than traditional cotton bath rugs. The material is also colorfast and fade resistant so it keeps its look after repeated laundering.
Backing & durability: Rather than PVC or simple hot‑glue backing, this mat uses a textured thermoplastic (TP) rubber base that maintains grip through repeated machine washes and dries. The backing is flexible so the rug lays flat and resists sliding on tile and other hard surfaces.
Safety & testing: Rugs have been tested for harmful substances and carry OEKO‑TEX Standard 100/Confidence in Textiles designation. They’ve undergone third‑party durability and wash testing to ensure the pile and backing hold up over time.
Sizes & use: Available in multiple sizes (examples include small 24 x 17 up to larger 30 x 20 and 20 x 30 dimensions) to fit in front of tubs, showers, sinks, or bedside. Use as a bath or shower mat, in front of vanity sinks, or as a soft spot at the bedside. Machine wash and tumble dry per care instructions for best results.
Pros
- Thick, soft chenille pile for comfort
- Highly absorbent and quick drying
- Durable TP rubber backing that resists slipping
Cons
- Some sizes run smaller than expected
- Can be bulky when wet — edge on hand‑washing large sizes
- Vacuuming requires care to avoid suctioning fibers
VerdictA soft, highly absorbent chenille bath mat that performs well at keeping floors dry and staying put. The nearly one‑inch plush pile feels cozy underfoot and the textured thermoplastic (TP) rubber backing provides reliable grip without the breakdown issues of PVC or hot glue. It’s fade‑resistant, quick to dry, and has third‑party testing and OEKO‑TEX certification for peace of mind. Best for people

Feels luxurious and doesn’t slip
Picked up two 20 x 30 rugs in Sand and they coordinate with our tile perfectly. Very soft underfoot and soaks up water fast without sliding. A bit pricey, but well made. No shedding so far; I’ll update after washing.

Great color match and stays flat
Bought the Burgundy and the matching toilet lid cover — color matched my bathroom perfectly. The rug is made of cable‑style yarn, stays flexible, lays flat and doesn’t slide. It soaks up water exiting the shower and I haven’t seen any color bleed. No complaints so far.

Smaller than expected but very absorbent
Size was less than I anticipated (I read reviews saying that), but I kept it because I needed something quickly. Absorbs well, feels good underfoot and dries reasonably fast.

Nice mat — would buy again
Color and size matched the description, the grip is good and it’s comfortable on the feet. Would purchase again.

Solid mat that grips and washes well
Stays in place, soft to step on and holds dampness from showers. I wash with powder detergent and hang dry; it comes out like new. Don’t use fabric softener or a hot dryer. Let most water drip off before stepping on it to avoid over‑saturating the rug.

High quality, minor vacuuming hassle
I have a dozen of these around the house in different colors; my favorite is army green. They grip well, soak up spills and launder easily depending on size. The only annoyance is vacuuming — run the vacuum side to side or the fibers can get pulled up. Great for homes with pets.

Good build, just smaller than I wanted
Well made though the size is small — that was my mistake choosing a compact size. Color is true to photos. A bit pricey, but it’s soft, fluffy and absorbs well. Washes easily and keeps its look.

Too small for my space; became my cat’s nap mat
Quality felt OK but the size was much smaller than I needed. It picked up a deodorant stain after only a few days, so I handed it off to my cat, who now naps — and chews — on it. Guests joked about how tiny it looked. It came folded with a deep crease that relaxed after a couple uses. Soft enough, but you can still feel the floor underneath.

Comfy spot for my dog
Placed it bedside for my dog to sleep on. He loves it and stays close to me while resting.

Brightened the bathroom
A lovely rug that added warmth to our bathroom. I chose a larger size for in front of the sink and have hand‑washed it once because of the weight when wet. Still soft and comfortable underfoot.
