Panasonic Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer ER-GN70-K with Micro-Vacuum
Product description
The Panasonic ER-GN70-K is a compact cordless trimmer engineered for nose, ear and eyebrow maintenance. Included in the package are the trimmer itself and a small brush for cleaning; batteries are not supplied. The device is built around a 9,400 cuts-per-minute motor that powers dual-edge, hypoallergenic cutting blades, designed to slice hair at both the top and sides for efficient removal of long and short hairs.
A contoured safety cone surrounds the cutter to minimize blade contact with skin, helping prevent nicks and irritation. The unit’s angled, slender profile makes it easier to reach inside the nostrils and ear canals, and the lightweight body is sized for both home use and travel. It runs on two AAA alkaline batteries (not included) and delivers up to around 40 minutes of cordless operation on fresh cells.
What sets this trimmer apart is the micro-vacuum collection system: as the blades trim, a small suction chamber captures many of the clippings for neater grooming. For cleanup, the ER-GN70-K employs a vortex rinse system — hold the tip under warm running water while the motor is on to flush away trapped hair; the trimmer head and vacuum compartment are also washable. Construction combines metal cutting elements with durable plastic components and a removable blade assembly for replacement or maintenance.
Pros
- Strong motor handles coarse hair without tugging
- Built-in suction reduces cleanup
- Washable head with vortex rinse for easy maintenance
Cons
- Requires two AAA batteries (not included)
- Disassembly for deep cleaning can be fiddly
- Replacement blades or parts may require care to remove
VerdictA well-built personal groomer that excels at precise nose, ear and eyebrow maintenance. The powerful 9,400 CPM motor and dual-edge cutting head make short work of coarse hair without pulling. The integrated micro-vacuum reduces mess, and the unit can be rinsed clean using the vortex system. It’s simple to handle and travel-friendly, though it requires two AAA alkaline cells and some users find the

Reliable and easy to use
Simple operation and does the job well.

Outlasts many rivals
I’ve tried several nose/ear trimmers and this one has kept working longer than most. Note the tiny filter disc inside the suction chamber — clean it gently and often. The tip unscrews for an internal rinse; there’s a grey collar with a water port for flushing. It uses two batteries rather than being rechargeable, which helps protect the electronics from moisture.

Excellent—best value versus pricier options
Did a lot of research and this was the right pick. Far better performance than my prior trimmer.

Fast and convenient
Quick to operate and ideal for a rapid tidy-up. It won’t shave as close as flat-blade trimmers, but it’s fast, simple and effective for routine trims.

Poor durability in my case
I bought this after positive reviews but it fell apart after three uses when I opened it to clean. The blade assembly jammed in the top and the cover wouldn’t snap shut. I couldn’t contact the manufacturer and had to discard it—disappointing.

Design could be improved
Older models from the brand felt better at guiding hairs into the cutter; this head needs hairs to enter more deliberately. The vacuum idea adds complexity and isn’t as effective as expected. The head cap has fragile plastic tabs that could break, and the unit is bulkier than comparable trimmers.

Very effective hair removal
Best one I’ve bought after trying several. Comfortable to hold, feels durable and painless so far. Still new, so battery life unknown.

Exceeded expectations as a gift
Bought it as a birthday present and it was a hit. It surpassed expectations and I’d recommend it to others.

Durable, high-quality groomer
Handles nose, ear and facial stray hairs very well. I’ve used mine for years; two AAA alkalines run it best (lithium changed the motor feel). The vacuumed clippings and washability are handy. Takes care when taking it apart, but follow the steps and cleaning is easy. More costly than basic models, but it lasts.

Top pick for me
The best trimmer I’ve owned.

Solid trimmer with a tidy vacuum feature
At first glance it felt basic for the cost—no case, extras or batteries, just a small brush—but it performs well. The suction chamber pulls up most clippings and is straightforward to open and rinse. The blade comes off easily for replacement, and the washable head makes cleanup simple. Great for precise detailing and excellent at removing nose hair.

Great performance but check warranty terms
Far superior to alternatives I’ve owned. Note the guarantee in my region was limited, so check coverage before you buy.
