100% Badger Shaving Brush — Pure Badger Hair Brush
Product description
Contents and construction
This listing includes one shaving brush only — a full badger-hair knot set into a shaped handle. The bristles are 100% natural badger hair intended for classic wet-shave use.
Materials and dimensions
The knot is genuine badger hair; the handle is a molded, finished grip designed to resist daily use. Overall length is approximately 4.25 inches, with a handle length near 2.5 inches and a knot diameter around 22 mm, sized to work well in hand and fit most common stands.
How it performs
Used with soap or cream, the brush blooms product into a rich, dense lather while lightly exfoliating the skin and transferring water evenly across the face for a close shave. It pairs neatly with a chrome razor and brush stand and is best maintained by rinsing, shaking out excess water, and storing bristles upright or on their side.
Care notes
Like all authentic badger brushes, you may notice a few loose hairs during the initial uses as the knot beds in. Avoid fully submerging the base of the handle where the knot is glued to prolong life; gentle rinsing and air drying are recommended.

VerdictThis pure badger shaving brush delivers classic wet-shave performance: it blooms soap easily, carries water to the face, and produces a thick, satisfying lather while offering light exfoliation. Soft and effective
Bristles are soft and feel well made. Builds lather nicely and makes shaving with soap easier than creams for me.

Learning curve and some early shedding — update Jul 2024
My father used a brush and I finally bought one myself. The brush looks great, but the first time I used it I broke out. After putting it away for a while I tried again and didn’t have a reaction, though it began shedding noticeable long and short hairs each shave. I lathered with an olive-oil soap, gently in my palm, and liked the lather but was disappointed at how soon bristles started to come out. Online claims of multi-year life felt optimistic. UPDATE July 2024: after the initial loss it settled down and has performed well for months; at this point I would recommend it.

Very soft, keeps shape, great value
The knot is very soft and the brush retains its shape after use. No odd smells and no prickly tips. I avoid submerging the whole handle to preserve the glued joint — lay it on its side or hang it to dry. Some problems others report may come from over-aggressive lathering or not pre-wetting the knot. For an introductory brush this is an excellent buy.

Good travel brush, lasted several years
Picked this up for my travel kit in May 2019 and used it regularly on short trips. It worked well and the size was convenient. After a few years I began to notice some hair loss, so I replaced it in Aug 2023 and only saw minimal bristle loss with the new one. Performance was acceptable overall and replacement was a minor issue.

Solid performer — loads up and holds lather
Loads soap easily and is inexpensive. I didn’t detect any unpleasant odor and only found a handful of loose hairs — well within a normal range. I’ve used it with hotter-than-recommended water without issue, though I avoid prolonged soaking to protect the glue. Not a museum-grade brush, but for the price it gives excellent value; if you’re a serious brush purist you might choose something pricier, otherwise this is a great everyday tool.

Works, but handle separation after extended use
Used every couple days for several months, then less often, until the handle separated clean from the knot. I avoided letting the knot sit in water. The bristles aren’t the softest and can frizz, but they don’t fall out en masse. It needs a bit more soaking to soften for face-lathering and is slower in a narrow bowl, but overall it got the job done until it failed.
