Laundry
Liquid Washing Machine Cleaner — Fresh Scent, 12 fl oz Appliance Deodorizer
Product description
Deep-cleaning formula: A liquid cleaner designed to break up and wash away detergent scum, soap residues, and mineral deposits that accumulate inside washers.
What’s in the package and materials: Sold as a 12 fl oz bottle of concentrated, non-bleach solution. The detergent-free liquid is intended to be safe for common washer interiors including stainless steel and HE drums, and is labeled plumbing- and septic-friendly.
Why it’s used: Residue from laundry products, hard water minerals, and trapped moisture can create unpleasant odors and leave films on fabrics. This cleaner penetrates and loosens that buildup so it can be rinsed away, leaving the tub cleaner and less likely to transfer smells to laundry.
How to use: Run the washer empty. Pour 1/2 cup of the product into the drum (or as directed on the bottle), set the machine to a normal or dedicated tub-clean cycle on the hottest water setting and run with a full-load equivalent cycle option if available. Repeat on a monthly basis or whenever odors or residue appear.
Performance and assurance: Fast-acting liquid formula that foams and lifts deposits during the cycle. Manufacturer provides a satisfaction guarantee and notes the product is made in the USA.
Pros
- Effective at removing odor-causing residue
- Safe for HE and stainless-steel tubs; septic-friendly
- Simple monthly treatment — pour and run an empty hot cycle
Cons
- Not a cure-all for heavily neglected machines
- May require repeated use for stubborn deposits
- A single bottle can be insufficient for large or very dirty washers
VerdictThis washable-tub cleaner is a straightforward, no-fuss solution for routine washer maintenance. The 12 fl oz liquid formulation targets buildup that causes musty smells and residue on clothing, works in both top and front loaders (including stainless-steel and HE units), and is advertised as septic-friendly and bleach-free. It won’t replace intensive mechanical or manual restoration for machines

Works as advertised — clothes smell fresh again
One treatment cleared the musty, moldy scent from my laundry. I ran it again a few weeks later and the towels no longer had that funk. Just pour, set hot, and run an empty cycle — simple and effective.

Expensive but highly effective
Tried this on a six-year-old machine with a musty smell. Poured the recommended amount into a hot cotton cycle and watched a lot of grime lift out during the wash. After rinses the washer was clean and smelled fresh.

Great for regular upkeep
A single use noticeably reduced grime and lint residue. The interior wipes down easier and no scrubbing was needed. I’ll use this every month to keep the washer fresh.

Good product — removes gunk from the drum
Doesn’t dissolve very heavy scale completely, but it leaves the tub looking clean and refreshed.

Recommended by a repair tech — it works
An LG technician suggested this for routine cleaning of our front-loader. After replacing a worn rubber seal and using the cleaner, the machine smells and looks like new.

Very effective — more than a DIY mix
Had brown residue on my wash; one half-bottle run revealed a huge amount of gunk. Wiped it away and repeated tub cycles until clear. Far better than homemade solutions.

Finally eliminated that awful rotten-egg smell
My washer developed a terrible rotten-egg odor that vinegar cycles couldn't fix. I’d tried tablets before without much luck, so I switched to a liquid cleaner and picked this 12 oz formula after reading reviews. It arrived quickly in a two-bottle pack and did what vinegar failed to do — the smell was gone after a treatment and the machine felt cleaner.

Solved my smelly towels problem
I hadn’t realized washers need cleaning until my towels started to smell despite appearing clean. Inspecting the boot and dispenser revealed mold and grime. After using this cleaner the odors improved and the drum looked much better.

Helpful for maintenance but not miraculous
This product is fine for ongoing care, but it won’t fully reverse years of hard-water scale and mold. For my neglected front-loader I had to do extensive manual scraping, filter cleaning, many vinegar and bleach cycles, and repeated wipe-downs. The cleaner helped, but heavy buildup required hands-on work too.
