Product description

Set contents: six multi-colored poly-resin croquet balls; nine 8.25" steel wickets; two 24" hardwood scoring posts; official croquet rulebook. Also included are six wood mallets sized at 29 inches.

Mallet design: each mallet has a wooden head and a hardwood shaft with detachable heads for compact packing. The removable heads allow the mallets to break down for easier carrying and storage.

Materials and hardware: the balls are molded poly-resin for durability and color-coding; wickets are bent steel at an 8.25" height; scoring posts are solid hardwood at 24". A nylon carry bag holds the full set for transport to lawns, parks or campsites.

Use and setup: this set is intended for casual lawn play—backyard afternoons, picnics, family reunions and social events. The components assemble quickly and the detachable mallet heads help the whole kit fit neatly into the included carrying bag when the match is over.

Well crafted

They seem very well made; I may build a small cart to transport them.

Comfortable grips

The cushioned grips helped my spouse with weak hands, making holding the mallet easier. Construction is good and the metal connectors at the joins are well thought out.

Finish issues

Not satisfied with the finish—paint is uneven and two handles arrived without varnish. Needed a cleaner look for a shoot and it fell short.

Great for kids

Bought for my 8-year-old grandson; it's solidly made and looks like it will hold up. He loves it!

Decent, not premium

Balls and mallets work fine for casual play but feel lighter than pro gear. Some balls dented early and mallets seem aimed at occasional use rather than heavy duty.

Mallets feel flimsy

Mallet heads arrived with visible filler and patched cracks; they felt light and fragile, so I'm concerned about durability under harder play.

Good casual set

I compared several sets and read lots of feedback. Wanted a decent recreational set without needing regulation gear. The wooden mallet heads are solid—no rubber ends to peel off—and we've enjoyed many relaxed games.

Pleasantly surprised

Received as a gift and was impressed by the build. Metal threads where the mallet joins look durable and the weight balance feels right. Happy with the quality.
